From the same author and cartoonist, Dav Pilkey, who wrote Captain Underpants, Dog Man follows George (Marcus Phillips) and Harold (Max Torrez), two young kids who are coming up with their very own musical. Set in a treehouse, these two young boys take us on an adventure as they create an exciting, out-of-this-world story about a half-dog, half-man title-character (Brian Owen), a highly energetic creature who is unable to talk but is able to fight crime and protect the city.
Great chemistry is at play as the various actors work together to create an energetic and interesting show, geared towards children.
Phillips and Torrez work particularly well off each other with masterful comedic timing, in their portrayals of young children.
With music by Brad Alexander, and books and lyrics by Kevin Del Aguila, the show features various musical numbers which are also a delight. Directed and choreographed by Jen Wineman, the show features high energetic dance numbers as well.
