Please advise: We know what a FICOR “non-member” lose for assuming that status; but what does s/he get for the dues s/he still has to pay?

Though not a “member,” a FICORE dissident remains part of the union. As such, when on the stage with union and/or non-union actors, the law requires that FICORE dissidents be treated with the equivalency of union actors, i.e. health and pension benefits (if they apply), the right to file grievances with the union, and have those grievances heard, etc.

Does anyone have any idea what it means to face reprisals from the union? I don’t want to rush to go fi core because I always intended to continue working union jobs and even already have some lined up for next year. I’ve been a part of the development of a show that is creating union jobs, but the LA production will not be AEA because of this mess. So frustrating. I’d almost prefer to face a reprisal and wait for this all to shake out. But what does that really mean? Does anyone know?
