I Love 99: The Musical

I’ve been enjoying your perspective on this issue but can’t ignore the irony in your praise of a rally cry – supporting anachic, cutting-edge theatre which you support – largely being based on ‘mainstream’ theatre properties (Dreamgirls, Whorehouse, Sondheim in general) which in past articles you have derided as being part of a ‘regional circuit factory.’
‘Money theatre’ has always helped bolster ‘art theatre’ if only through member contributions via Equity. I’ve been on both sides, and the polarization that so often occurs deeply saddens me. You article to me is vindication of the idea we all need each other.
Hope this situation is resolved without too much hurt. Thanks for your. insight and humour.
