L.A. Stage Day, 2014

On Saturday, May 17, local theater folk will be congregating at California State University, Los Angeles from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the second annual LA Stage Day, a festival for the greater Los Angeles performing arts community. LA Stage Day was conceived of and created by the Los Angeles Stage Alliance.
No, the purpose is not to confess our addiction to theater as part of a 12-step program away from theater and towards common sense. The aim is to bring together stage artists, designers, arts leaders, administrators, students, vendors and patrons for a day of workshops, mini-lectures, panels, and the opportunity to engage in networking at an outdoor bazaar.
Some of the categories to be explored are Arts Philanthropy, Directing Actors in Dialogue Roles, Applying for Local Grant Programs, Digital Marketing, Engaging with Government Agencies, A Director’s Role in Team-Building, and more. Access to these events comes with the $40 admission fee. A private Marketing Master Class led by Jim Royce (formerly of Center Theatre Group) and Joseph Yoshitomi (formerly of the Geffen Playhouse) will also be offered for an additional fee of $75. (Admission to the outdoor bazaar is free, and open to the public.)
Scheduled speakers are Bill Ahmanson, Sheri Biller, Danielle Brazell, John D’Amico, Castulo de la Rocha, Amy Edlin Kramer, Olga Garay-English, Jim McCarthy, Joy Meads, Nina Ozlu Tunceli, Seema Sueko, Pamela Vanderway, Craig Watson, Renae Williams Niles, Laura Zucker, and more.

The L.A. Stage Day Bazaar is free and open to the public. If your organization would like to reserve a table to distribute materials, there is a $15 setup fee.
