THE AWARDS

The 2024 Stage Raw Theater Awards serve to recognize excellence on the Los Angeles-region-wide stages for productions that opened during the 2023 year.

They are chosen by all Stage Raw contributors. There are no quorums to restrict recognizing productions from far-flung places across the region that any number of contributors might not have seen. The only restriction is that productions being recognized must have been reviewed by at least one Stage Raw contributor.

THE PARTY

The party is themed on the song “I’ll be seeing you,” in honor of an art form dedicated to seeing others — a quality that appears to be dissipating in an era of growing partisan encampments. Live theater serves as a kind of rescue mission for that kind of dissipation.

The party will be held Monday, May 6, at Hollywood’s Sassafras Saloon, 1233 Vine Street. Doors open at 7:30. Tickets are on sale now, $25 for everyone. The ticket covers complimentary pass-around food. The saloon has a fully stocked, pay as you go bar. After 7 pm, it’s likely that parking will be a challenge, and ride-share services are recommended.

Entertainment will be provided by the Verdi Chorus of Santa Monica, Anne-Marie Ketchum, conductor and founding artistic director.

At 9 pm. there will be a 30-minute ceremony for presenting the legacy awards. All other awards can be retrieved from a table at any time throughout the evening.

Sponsorship packets are now available. Packets range from $200 to $1,000, with perks including logo inclusion on Awards party announcements and e-blasts, logo inclusion on the party’s step-and-repeat, logo inclusion on a slide carousel in the venue throughout the evening, tickets to the awards, advertising on Stage Raw, and the presentation of legacy awards.
